Adjusting holiday entitlement in Atlas for the extra bank holiday during April 2023-March 2024

You can check what working day profiles your employees are assigned to in the Job tab of their employee records.

Go to: Employees/Workers > Manage > Open a record with the eye button > Job tab.

You can edit multiple employee records at once to alter current year holiday entitlement. To do this, navigate to:

Employees/Workers > Manage > Actions button (next to “Add employee/worker”) > Update Employees/Workers

This will reopen your employee records in an editable spreadsheet format. Any amendments you make here will automatically save.

Use the grey bar at the bottom to navigate to the part of the spreadsheet regarding ‘Current Year Holiday Entitlement’ and reduce each person’s entitlement by one. Wait for your changes to save.

NOTE: The red alert icon means the change hasn’t been saved yet, so make sure you wait until it turns green.

You can also do this individually by going to:

Employees/Workers > Manage > Open record with the eye button > Job tab > Update.

When reducing the number of bookable holidays from 20 to 19 in the April 2023-March 2024 holiday section, you will also need to increase the number of bookable days to 21 in the ‘current year holiday entitlement’ for 2024/25 – but please note that you can only do so at the start of the April 2024-March 2025 holiday year. That way you can make sure they get the right amount of entitlement, and you may choose to address it when you come to do your Year End Procedure.

NOTE: All the above applies to employees in England and Wales. Please be mindful, when adjusting the number of bookable holidays, that in Scotland there ared in the standard Atlas Scottish profile for the April 2023-March 2024 holiday year, and 10 bank holidays are included in the April 2024-March 2025 year.

In Northern Ireland, there are 11 bank holidays included in the standard Atlas profile for the April 2023-March 2024 holiday year, and 9 bank holidays are included in the April 2024-March 2025 year.
